ADA-Compliant Communication Through ComPAS™ Tablets

HomeWAV’s ComPAS™ tablets are designed with accessibility in mind, offering an ADA-compliant app that eliminates communication barriers. Through our platform, we provide essential tools for individuals with hearing impairments to connect with family and friends through hearing-assisted voice calls, video calls, and messaging services—ensuring that no one is left out of the conversation.

Telecommunications Relay Services (TRS)

HomeWAV’s TRS (Telecommunications Relay Services) app allows hearing-impaired inmates to communicate seamlessly while meeting FCC and ADA requirements. This service enables users to request one of three relay options that best suit their needs.

How TRS Works:

Inmates can request TRS app access via the ComPAS™ tablet, with facility approval required. Once approved, inmates enter a phone number, and a relay interpreter facilitates the call. If needed, a “Help Me Choose” feature helps inmates select their preferred communication method.

Accessibility Features on ComPAS™ Tablets

To enhance the user experience, HomeWAV’s ComPAS™ tablets include customizable accessibility settings, allowing inmates to adjust their device according to their needs.

• Font Size: Increase or decrease text size for better readability.

• Display Size: Adjust the entire screen’s dimensions for improved visibility.

• Magnification: Enlarge specific portions of the screen as needed.

• Color Options: Choose from three different display color settings.

• TalkBack: A screen reader feature that speaks aloud the selected item (e.g., tapping “Continue” will prompt the tablet to say “Continue”).

These settings are saved automatically, so every time an inmate logs in, their personalized accessibility preferences remain in place. Additionally, a Tutorials tab provides easy-to-follow guides on adjusting these settings for first-time users.
